Parents and Students:

The weather is starting to feel like spring, and we are racing to the end of school.

A few key things:

1. Phil will be out May 11th and part of the evening of May 30. Narjes will be out the week of June 5th. If you would like to work with another tutor that week, please let us know as soon as possible.

2. We are starting a waitlist for extra sessions for finals. Let us know which tutor you would like and which day(s) you are available.

3. Our summer schedule is starting to take shape. We will begin sign ups 11:00 AM, Tuesday May 16th. We will take a few weeks off after finals and begin the summer session July 9th.

Phil will work Tues, Wed, and Thurs 11:00, 12 noon, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30

Gen will work Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs 1:00, 2:00, 3:15, and 4:15

Narjes will work Tues, Wed, and Thurs 11:00, 12 noon, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30

Christie will work Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs 1:00, 2:00, 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15.

We may add hours or days as we get closer to the start of school.

For those of you who are new to CJLC, we start the sign ups at 11:00 AM, first come, first served. This way no family has priority over any other family. We want to keep the sign ups fair for everyone.

Please email cjlcinfo@gmail.com on 5/16 with your student's name in the subject line and top three choices for tutor, day, and time. If the tutor is the most important, let us know. If the day is the most important, and so on. Most years I can give people a spot in their top three choices.

If you have any questions, please email us before the 16th. As you can imagine, the day of sign ups will be very busy, and I will not have time to respond to questions. I will email you a confirmation of your schedule that morning.

I hope you have a chance to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Soak in the sunshine and get ready for the race to finals. We will see you soon!

Parents and Students:

I hope you were able to get out in the sunshine today. I think we all needed the rest and relaxation (and the Vitamin D). We are in for some more rain this week-- a soggy start to spring break.

Just a few things:

1. The office is closed through April 9th. We will return April 10th. I hope you have a great spring break and can have time with friends and family.

2. Seniors: thank you so much for stopping in or messaging us about your college acceptances. It has been wonderful to share in your joy. We are so proud of you and wish you all the best in your years ahead. We will see you at graduation!

3. Juniors (and sophomores): It is time to get serious about researching your colleges. Start a spreadsheet and compare all the features so you can make your list of which colleges to visit. Be picky. You want to find the right fit. Take virtual tours and ask yourself, "Does this school seem right for me?" Think about the community, academics, size and settling, housing, etc.

4. We are starting to get some questions about our summer tutoring. We are still working things out and will update you mid-April.

After we get back from break, it will be full steam ahead to the end of the year. It is an intense 10 weeks, but you can do it. We have faith in you.

Christie

Parents and Students:

Well, it isn't raining cats and dogs, but the strange weather continues. Hail? Snow? Sunshine? Sometimes we are hit with everything all at once. No matter what comes, we will get through it.

Just a few things:

1. Spring break is at the end of the month. The whole office will be closed March 27th-April 7th. It looks like Casa will be in session on April 6-7. We will see if students need a session and go from there.

2. If you have a credit from a cancelled or rescheduled session, please give us some time to post the credits to the current invoice. We have to allocate them manually, so it takes time. You can always see your current balance in the top right hand corner of your account screen.

3. Learning can take many paths, and spring is the perfect time to visit a museum or national park. The Sonoma County Library has added national park passes, and they continue to offer their Discovery and Go museum passes. You can check out a physical book or an ebook, or look at the online resources to research and plan your visit. Oh, the places you'll go.

4. SRJC's summer 2023 schedule will be posted March 1st. If you are thinking about taking a summer class, start filing the paperwork with your counselor. Email me if you have any questions. Classes fill up quickly, so be prepared with alternates.

As always, thanks for being you. We love working with you and seeing you grow.
