June 2023 Announcements

Parents and Students, We are in the final sprint now! The next two weeks are packed, and we are doing all we can to help you finish this year strong. 1. We have a waiting list for students who want extra sessions for finals. Thanks for keeping us updated with your availability. Sometimes a last minute cancellation pops up, and will will call you. 2. After school gets out, we will take the rest of June off for a summer break. We will start the summer session July 10th. I will be checking email periodically over the break, but we will return calls and emails the week of July 10th. 3. If you want a summer workbook recommendation, please email us and we will get back to you with some suggestions. Sometimes you don’t need tutoring; practicing a few minutes a day can help prevent the summer slide and keep your skills sharp. 4. There are lots of ways to keep learning this summer. Check out the Petaluma Library’s reading program as well as museum, national parks, and historical site info. Try a coding project or a cooking class. Explore new hobbies and find passion projects. As always—but especially at the end of a school year— we are thankful for you and proud of all you have accomplished. It is a pleasure working with you and growing with you. Read With Us All Summer Save the date: Sonoma County Library's Summer Reading Challenge—a celebration of reading, learning, and having fun—starts June 5! From June 5 to August 5, the whole community is invited to read 20 minutes a day to earn books and win prizes.

And the fun doesn't stop there! Our Summer Reading lineup is jam-packed with entertainment for all ages. Everyone is welcome to attend free events all summer long! Check out our calendar and get a head start on planning your Summer Reading schedule.

A Reminder from Your Library: Upcoming Holiday Closure

All library branches will be closed Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day. We look forward to seeing you when we reopen on Tuesday, May 30!

Summer 2023 Announcements

Parents and Students:

Thank you to everyone who signed up this morning for summer tutoring.

I really appreciate that everyone respected the 11:00 AM start time. I am happy to report that every family got a time in their stated preference.

If you did not receive an email confirmation from me, I did not receive your email and you are not yet signed up for summer tutoring. Please email or call soon for your best choice.

The summer session will begin July 10th and the schedule is:

Phil will work Tues, Wed, and Thurs 11:00, 12 noon, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30

Gen will work Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs 1:00, 2:00, 3:15, and 4:15

Narjes will work Tues, Wed, and Thurs 11:00, 12 noon, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30

Christie will work Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs 1:00, 2:00, 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15.

If you are going to be away on vacation or a summer camp, simply email us beforehand so we can update the calendar. Summer is a time to relax and recharge. We want to encourage all families to get outside and play. Learning happens in many ways and everywhere.

Let's finish these last few weeks of school and move forward into the sun. If I don't have a chance to see you, I hope you have a wonderful summer. I am proud of you and want the best for you, always.
